Retrospective studies on rabbit haemorrhagic disease outbreaks caused by RHDV GI.2 virus on farms in France from 2013 to 2018

چکیده
Rabbit haemorrhagic disease (RHD) is a critical health threat to the rabbit industry in Europe. In 2018, French adopted voluntary control plan against this disease. context, two epidemiological studies were conducted on RHD outbreaks that occurred between 2013 and 2018 France. The objectives describe spread of due new genotype RHDV GI.2 (rabbit virus GI.2) identify rearing factors influencing occurrence order guide prevention measures recommended plan. An analysis cases 295 farms 2017 showed 32% affected at least once; incidence increased 2016-2017 compared 2013-2015. Farms already 2013-2015 had higher risk being infected than those remained unaffected until 2015 (Relative Risk 95% Confident Interval 1.7 [1.1-2.7]). A case-control study carried out 2016 37 32 revealed variability biosecurity decontamination practices farms. tends be linked these practices, but certain structural (e.g. manure disposal system, transfer rabbits weaning) could also influence introduction into context limited vaccination coverage (only females are vaccinated), hypotheses will studied further, using information from outbreak monitoring system implemented same time as 2018.

Rabbit haemorrhagic disease (RHD) and rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV): a review
Rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) is a calicivirus of the genus Lagovirus that causes rabbit haemorrhagic disease (RHD) in adult European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus). First described in China in 1984, the virus rapidly spread worldwide and is nowadays considered as endemic in several countries. In Australia and New Zealand where rabbits are pests, RHDV was purposely introduced for ra...
متن کاملMolecular epidemiology of rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus outbreaks in France during 1988 to 1995.
In order to evaluate genetic variation between rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) isolates and to derive phylogenetic relationships, 56 virus isolates collected from various parts of France over a 7 year period (1988 to 1995) were examined. Analyses were carried out by direct nucleotide sequencing of PCR fragments of three genomic regions encoding the capsid protein (VP60) (regions A and ...

Since its detection in China in 1984, rabbit haemorrhagic disease (RHD) has been the subject of numerous studies. Yet, the evolutionary origin of rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) is still under debate. For example, some aspects related to the epidemiology of the disease are still unknown, such as where the virus is hosted between RHD outbreaks. To detect the presence of RHDV in rabbit-s...

Rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) belongs to the family Caliciviridae and is the etiological agent of the haemorrhagic disease, also known as rabbit plague. Its genome is a linear single-stranded (ss) RNA of 7437 nucleotides and the capsid is built from a single structural protein VP60. In connection with the discovery of new RHDV strains, there is a constant need to investigate the gene...
متن کاملMolecular epidemiology of Rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus.
Millions of domestic and wild European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) have died in Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand during the past 17 years following infection by Rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV). This highly contagious and deadly disease was first identified in China in 1984. Epidemics of RHDV then radiated across Europe until the virus apparently appeared in Britain in 1992. ...
